Where are your eyes first drawn when they see this painting? I created this piece to show a mixture of order and what first appears to be chaos.
Beginning from the top of the piece, I used horizontal lines to indicate the element of space. Moving to the right side of the canvas, I used one large vertical line, split in two, to indicate the act of creation, at which point the vertical lines begin.
The vertical lines are symbolic of time; past, present, future.
In the center of the canvas, I used a horizontal red stroke, undercut by an angled (downward) stroke to indicate the intersection of time/space.
Once time and space have intersected, the red strokes on the canvas are used to indicate growth, chaos, birth, and destruction. While all of these strokes appear to be falling down the canvas, they are actually coming back together to create the small collection of gray lines – which represent a metatron.
This piece is a reflection of the way I view the world. Sometimes it seems to be ordered and perfect – other times, chaotic. What I’ve learned is that regardless of where you are at in the ‘life’ game, everything is in its perfect place.
